In 2010, President Barack Obama ordered Operation Phalanx, sending 1,200 National Guard troops to the southern border. Around 17,887 illegal immigrants were apprehended in the first 11 months of the operation, according to CNN.

On April 4, President Donald Trump ordered a similar operation, signing a proclamation to send National Guard troops to the southern border to help stymie the flow of illegal immigrants, as well as stop drug smuggling, human trafficking and other crimes at the border.

“We’re going to do some things militarily,” the president said. “Until we can have a wall and proper security, we’re going to be guarding our border with the military.”

Cabot Phillips with Campus Reform, an American conservative news website on higher education, spoke with students at UC Santa Barbara to get their reactions to President Trump’s order.
“President Trump recently announced he’s going to be sending a few thousand troops down to the border to try and secure the influx of people coming across illegally,” Phillips explained to various students around campus.

“Do you support sending troops down to the border?” he asked

“I feel like it’s not justified, mostly because it’s a totally uncalled for act of power,” one student replied.

“It just puts a bad light on America,” said another.

“Not productive,” one young woman told Phillips. “I’m not a huge fan of the military to begin with. We’re spending way too much money on that.”

After overwhelmingly negative feedback on Trump’s decision, Phillips asked the same students if they approved of Obama’s move to send troops in 2010.

“Did you approve when President Obama did the exact same thing when he was president?” he asked.

James Woods’ Response to Hillary’s They Wouldn’t Let Me Win Whine Is Pure Gold

For all Hillary Clinton’s whining since election night, this might have been the worst.

Worse than her insults to American women delivered in India in March. Worse than her knock on white people in September.

But after The New York Times this week published a statement Hillary made while her defeat was still in the making, conservative actor James Woods nailed her with a Twitter post that might have been his best one yet.

Woods was responding to an excerpt of the book “Chasing Hillary” by Times staff writer Amy Chozick. The excerpt was published online on Friday.

The piece was headlined “They Were Never Going to Let Me Be President,” and described one scene when the failed Democrat candidate for president was told by campaign manager Robby Mook — as late Nov. 8 became early Nov. 9 — that her defeat was inevitable.

“I knew it. I knew this would happen to me,” Clinton said, according to Chozick. “They were never going to let me be president.”

Woods wasted no time responding, and even for a past master of Twitter strikes, it was brutal:

Woods tweeted: “You couldn’t beat 1.) a dope-smoking block party organizer. 2) a dandruff ridden old Commie from Vermont. 3) a reality TV host. It’s not ‘they’ who stopped you, Honey Bunny, it’s YOU!”
Even Clinton fans have to admit Woods has some points here.

In 2008, Hillary was the Inevitable One. The Clinton who would regain the White House for herself, her family and the Democrat Party (in that order) after two successive Democrat candidates couldn’t beat George W. Bush.

It didn’t work out that way, because the junior senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, came out of nowhere. A former community organizer with a self-confessed history of heavy marijuana use — and a resume thinner than rolling paper — stole the mantle of destiny from Hillary’s fragile shoulders.

In 2016, she was the Inevitable One again, but had to resort to rigging the Democrat primaries to beat a half-senile socialist Bernie Sanders because so much of Hillary’s own party really can’t stand her.

Then, of course, she lost to Republican candidate Donald Trump in the biggest American political upset since Truman defeated Dewey.

And Hillary’s response? “They were never going to let me be president.”

There were quite a few social media users who thought Woods had a better take on the situation.
That last one might have been going a little too far.

Hillary Clinton has been credibly accused of many, many things over the years — from manipulating cattle futures to murder — but being stupid isn’t one of them.
She is, however, clearly capable of blinding herself to the reality that she was a terrible candidate, running for a terrible party, trying to succeed a terrible, terrible president in Barack Obama.

Still, with the the power of the mainstream news media behind her and all of popular culture pulling for her, against a run-of-the-mill Republican, she just might have pulled it off.

Unfortunately for her, but luckily for the country, Donald J. Trump was no run-of-the-mill Republican.

Hillary can spend the rest of her life trying to hunt down the “they” who put a halt to her return to the White House in glory, but as Woods wrote, all she really has to do is look in the mirror.

Former AG Issues Massive Comey Announcement… Now Jail Time on the Table

Former AG Issues Massive Comey Announcement… Now Jail Time on the Table

Former FBI Director James Comey may have just been hoisted by his own petard.

It looks increasingly likely that the now-fired director tried to use internal memos of meetings and conversations with Donald Trump to undermine the president, but those very memos are now making Comey look like the guilty one.

That’s certainly the view of former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey. He served in that respected position during the final years of the George W. Bush era, and knows a thing or two about the legality of classified information.

During a Friday appearance on Laura Ingraham’s program, the former attorney general pointed out that by leaking memos during his time in office, Comey may have done something highly illegal: Break the rules regarding classified documents.
“I think we ought to put to rest something one of your guests said in the last segment about how well the memos weren’t marked classified at the time,” Mukasey told Ingraham.

“They were classified as soon as he wrote them,” the legal expert explained. In simple terms, it didn’t matter whether or not Comey’s memos were marked as secret; they were classified as such automatically.

Mukasey used an example of his own time as attorney general to illustrate the point.

“I had an experience when I started as AG of taking notes at a meeting at a top secret procedure. And when I got up to leave the meeting my then chief of staff leaned over and wrote in big block letters at the top TS/SCI meaning ‘top secret, secured compartmentalized information,’” he recalled.

“In other words, those weren’t my notes, those were the government’s notes,” he clarified. “And those weren’t Mr. Comey’s memos, those were the government’s memos.”

And now it appears to be confirmed that James Comey leaked classified memos… memos that belonged to the U.S. government. After weeks of defending Comey, the media was forced to admit on Friday that, yes, the disgraced former director did leak classified material.

It may have been a rhetorical question, but “what it means” is very serious. In the past, the leaking of classified material has led to serious prison time for government officials who break the law.

“Former CIA officer Jeffrey Sterling was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison Monday for leaking classified information to a New York Times reporter,” reported The Washington Post back in 2015. Coincidentally, the Times is the same newspaper that received Comey’s leaked memos, after the director reportedly used a friend as a courier.

That Post article goes into detail of the sentences, ranging from probation and fines to lengthy prison time, given to past government officials who have leaked classified documents.

Once again, reality seems to be on the side of President Trump. It seems that every time a group tries to tear him down, they are the ones who end up with egg on their face… and if this case keeps unraveling, that egg just might be served to James Comey on a prison platter.
