NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Four people were killed and several others were wounded when a gunman opened fire in a Waffle House restaurant.

Police have launched a massive manhunt for the shooter, Travis Reinking, 29, who began shooting at customers around 3:30 a.m. Sunday at the Waffle House in Antioch, located about 16 miles southeast of downtown Nashville, before fleeing the scene, Metro Nashville police said.

Apparently the gunman was wearing just a jacket during the attack and ditched it as he fled the scene.

“If you see a nude guy walking around this morning call the police department,” Don Aaron of the Metro Nashville Police Department told WTVF.

Aaron said Reinking shot and killed two people outside the restaurant with a rifle before entering the building and gunning down customers, killing at least one person. Another individual died at the hospital.
“Investigation on going at the Waffle House. Scene being processed by MNPD experts. This is the rifle used by the gunman.”

FOX News reports that Aaron said some people at the restaurant had “visible cuts” on their faces due to flying glass when shots were fired.

“The people inside the restaurant were very very shaken. They were in tears,” Aaron said. “Some of the folks who didn’t have to be transported [to the hospital] had glass wounds on their faces.”

Chuck Cordero told WTVF he saw the gunman pull up to the restaurant in a pickup truck and began shooting. Cordero, who is a regular customer and friends with the employees at the Waffle House, said he was waiting outside because the restaurant was busy and he was waiting for the booth he usually sits in to clear out.

A 29-year-old patron attempting to flee the gunfire saw the shooter struggling with the rifle at one point. The man charged at the shooter, wrestled the weapon away and tossed it over the restaurant’s counter.

“He is the hero here and no doubt he saved many lives by wrestling the gun away,” Aaron said.

Cordero said he also saw a man who “jumped in” as the gunman was reloading the rifle.

“There’s a gentleman who was in there that when the guy stopped to reload his gun he jumped him,” Cordero recalled. “Had that guy reloaded, there was plenty of people in that restaurant that would not have made it home this morning.”

Authorities identified Reinking as the suspect after finding the vehicle allegedly used by the gunman was registered in that name. Aaron said officials are still gathering information on Reinking, but found that the alleged gunman’s license “goes back to Illinois.” Nashville police checked with authorities in Illinois who said Reinking has a history with firearms in that state.

The motive of the deadly shooting or why Reinking was in Nashville is still unclear.

It’s now being reported that LEO and SWAT has the suspects apartment surrounded.

Nashville Mayor David Briley and Tennessee Rep. Jim Cooper each issued statements in the wake of the shooting.

Briley called it a “tragic” day for the city.

“It’s a tragic day for our city anytime people lose their lives at the hands of a gunman. My heart goes out to the families and friends of every person who was killed or wounded in this morning’s shooting. I know all of their lives will be forever changed by this devastating crime.

“There’s clearly more to be said about these circumstances, but for now I ask Nashville to pray for and rally around these victims and join me in thanking the Metro Nashville Police Department as it works to find and apprehend the shooter.”

Tennessee Rep. Jim Cooper’s statement called for more gun control so we won’t include it in the article.

Stormy Fail Trump’s Evangelical Support Hits Record High

A poll by the Public Religion Research Institute shows that support for President Trump among white evangelicals has hit a record high of 75 percent. Only 22 percent view the president unfavorably.

The Hill reports that the “president’s favorability with white evangelicals in the poll has steadily risen over time, with his previous high being at 74 percent in February 2017.”

At one point this year, though, that number sat at just 68 percent.

In this same poll, among the general public, Trump’s job approval number sits at 42 percent, a five point jump since January.
One key take away from this poll is the establishment media’s total failure to separate Trump from the evangelical vote. This goal is why the media is willing to make such hypocritical fools of themselves while obsessing over Trump’s sex life.

The very same media that ignored, downplayed, and defended Bill Clinton and John Edwards from sex scandals that occurred in the White House and on the campaign trail, are more than willing to look ridiculous frenzying over the possibility that Trump might have boinked some hotties in consensual relationships more than a dozen years ago.

The whole point of this coverage is to undermine Trump’s support with his core in the evangelical community, which only proves how provincial and out-of-touch the media are in believing such a thing would work.

What’s more, when you see the jump in support from 68 percent to 75 percent during the very same period the media decided to go 24/7 with Trump’s sex life, it is safe to say that this tactic has not only failed, it has backfired.

Of course, the media are not alone. There are a countless number of stupes in the NeverTrump movement, like Jonah Goldberg, who are just as obsessed and ignorant.

To begin with, as Tucker Carlson so memorably put it, after eight years of Christians having their religious freedoms under assault during the Obama-era, we are looking for a bodyguard, not a saint. And let us not forget that many of the saints were not saints, but rather complicated, fallen, and difficult people who fell short in all kinds of ways.

Moreover, a present-day scandal (Edwards, Clinton) compared to something that might have happened over a decade ago, is just not a concern to the Faithful (I’m Catholic), especially when the fascist state wants us to pay for abortions and force Christian cake and floral artists to participate in the sacramentalization of sin that is a same sex wedding.

But because their bigoted and narrow minds stereotype evangelicals, the media and NeverTrump have confused the Faithful with the Pharisees — those judgmental finger-pointers who damn the imperfect. These bigots have forgotten that Christians are instead taught to refrain from judgment and to focus on our own sins.

The truth is that it is the media and NeverTrump who are behaving like the Pharisees, using sin as a political weapon to further their own mercenary goals. There is no principle behind their self-righteous moralizing, just ego and bitterness, a craven desire to emotionally blackmail and manipulate people.

Jesus had the choice of siding with the sinners or the hypocritical Pharisees. He chose the sinners, knowing there was at least some hope for their salvation while the strident, sanctimonious Pharisees were hopeless.

There is an important lesson in that.

As long as Trump keeps protecting our rights and the pious scolds keep standing atop the logs in their eyes to hector us into condemning others, this is a shockingly easy choice.

Judicial Watch Announces a BOLD MOVE That Will Have Comey and Mueller Scrambling

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch was quick to pile on Comey’s growing legal issues when they announced a lawsuit of their own right after the IG investigation against Comey was made official.

Judicial Watch believes that there’s possible collusion between Comey and Mueller, and are now issuing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the DOJ for all records of communication between the two crooked cops.
(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Justice Department for all records of communications relating to former FBI Director James Comey’s providing memoranda of his conversations with President Trump to Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his team. (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-00932)).

The suit was filed after the FBI informed Judicial Watch that it would neither “confirm nor deny” the existence of the materials for an August 4, 2017, FOIA request seeking:

All records of communications between former FBI Director James Comey and Special Counsel Robert Mueller, or members of SC Mueller’s investigative committee, relating to the return of memoranda of conversations, memoranda to the file or notes regarding same generated by Comey following conversations with government officials during his tenure as FBI Director.
On January 19, 2018, the FBI provided Judicial Watch a “Glomar” response, stating that it could, “neither confirm nor deny that the specific items you seek exist or do not exist as mere acknowledgment of these items would require the FBI to confirm or refute these assumptions,” which it claims could possibly interfere with law enforcement proceedings.

Comey’s involvement with the special counsel was first revealed on June 8, 2017, when the former FBI director testified to the Senate Intelligence Committee that he leaked memos of his conversations with President Trump “because (he) thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel.”

On January 23, 2018, The New York Times reported that, “Mr. Comey met last year with Mr. Mueller’s investigators to answer questions about memos he wrote detailing interactions with the president that had unnerved him.”

On June 13, 2017, Politico reported that Columbia University Law professor Daniel Richmond, a friend of James Comey, “turned over copies of the former FBI director’s explosive memos… to the FBI, sidestepping a request by congressional committees to deliver the materials to Capitol Hill.”

Judicial Watch currently has several other lawsuits pending that seek information regarding the “Comey memos:”

In June 2017, Judicial Watch filed a FOIA lawsuit seeking the memorandum written by former Director James Comey memorializing his meeting and conversation with President Trump regarding the FBI’s investigation of potential Russian interference in the 2016 United States presidential election (Judicial Watch v. In August 2017, Judicial Watch filed a FOIA lawsuit seeking the handling, storage, protection, dissemination, and/or return of classified information signed by Comey (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:17-cv-01624)).
In September 2017, Judicial Watch filed a FOIA lawsuit behalf of the Daily Caller News Foundation against the U.S. Department of Justice seeking memoranda allegedly written by former FBI Director James Comey regarding his discussions with President Donald Trump and Trump’s aides (Daily Caller News Foundation v. U.S. Department Justice (No. 1:17-cv-01830)).
In January 2018, U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg ordered the FBI to turn over the “Comey memos” for in camera review by the court. In doing so, the court rejected arguments by the Sessions Justice Department to dismiss the lawsuits seeking the Comey information. On February 2, Boasberg ruled that the “Comey memos” would not be made public. Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation are appealing the ruling.
In January 2018, Judicial Watch filed a FOIA lawsuit against the Justice Department for FBI records about Comey’s book, as well as records of communications between Comey and the FBI prior to and regarding Comey’s controversial June 2017 testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-00220)).

Gorka Call to Arms Grassroots, ‘You Have a Job To Do’

National security strategist and former Trump administration official Dr. Sebastian Gorka encouraged 200 grassroots activists this week to trust President Donald J Trump, but also remember “You have a job to do.”

The Middle Resolution hosted Gorka for the Richmond, Virginia event where the former deputy assistant to the President gave the crowd a look behind the veil of Trump as well as encouragement to get behind 2018 candidates and be part of the solution.

“It’s compassion that drives this President because he didn’t do it for the money. Nor did he run for President for fame,” Gorka told the crowd. “There’s no public persona and then a private persona,” he continued, “just the two of you in the Oval Office is exactly the same as he is on the campaign trail.”

Gorka recounted the November 8 election, the transition, and his first day of work for the administration on January 21, 2017. He identified January 21 as the date of “the most leveraged hostile takeover in world history,” backing up his claim by noting that the federal government is the largest employer in the world with several million employees. “And then we come in and we are what? We are the antibodies to the swamp,” said Gorka.
“Donald J. Trump won the presidency to become the most powerful man in the world despite the GOP, not because of the GOP,” explained Gorka. “This is something the GOP needs to understand, especially before November.”

“Donald Trump is a reaction to the failure of both parties,” said Gorka, who evidenced this by recounting a trip on Air Force One to Youngstown, Ohio last summer. On the twenty minute drive from the airport to the rally stadium, the motorcade passed disused steel plants, mills, and factories on one side of the road for miles. On the other side of the road stood men and women waving their “stars and stripes.” Candidate Trump and wife Melania saw a stadium teeming with many former Democrats “erupt” in cheers as the couple took the stage. “USA, USA, drain the swamp” they chanted, according to Gorka.

“Donald J. Trump has broken the political rulebook,” Dr. Gorka told the crowd gathered Tuesday night. “He took the political rulebook, he shredded it, burnt it, buried it, and then jumped up and down on it,” he added, eliciting laughter from the crowd.

“One thing I wish you to take home—have faith, be patient” he petitioned the crowd. He reassured the audience not to worry about issues surrounding Attorney General Jeff Sessions or Syria. “The President will never give up on us,” he said.

Speaking of the President’s abundant stores of energy, Gorka said he never saw the President yawn, even on three hours sleep. “The guy is a Mack Truck. He is unstoppable.”

He called the President’s accomplishments in the first year of his presidency “stunning,” even in the midst of relentless attacks on Trump and his family. Gorka listed a few of those accomplishments: tamping down ISIS, drops in illegal migration early in the administration, stock market increase of 40 percent, the lowest unemployment in 18 years, lowest female unemployment in 17 years, lowest black unemployment in history, and the first African American brigadier general in the Marine Corps appointed. Also mentioned were the five million Americans receiving bonuses and the $250 billion Apple is repatriating to the U.S. as a result of tax reform – a move that is expected to create more American jobs.

“Have faith” and “hold the course like the President,” Gorka instructed, but also remember “You have a job to do.” He told them to get a Facebook or Twitter account and post a few messages each night to be part of the solution. “It is very powerful,” he added.

“Without Twitter, Hillary would be President,” said Gorka. “You need to support him, you need to be part of Team Trump.” He urged those present to support candidates who “understand what happened on November the 8th and are prepared to fight for the Make America Great Again agenda in the local state house and on Capitol Hill.”
