Trump Turns His Back on NATO’s Endless War Scam

The summit in Alaska may not have produced a deal, but it produced something bigger. It shattered the old Western narrative. For years, Washington and Brussels told us Russia was a pariah, Putin a criminal, Ukraine the last stand for democracy. Anchorage showed the world that story no longer holds.

The spectacle was striking. Two planes, two presidents, two paths converging. Trump paused mid-carpet, waiting for Putin. The handshake—just one gesture—felt like a moon landing moment. For Putin, peace is conditions—Ukraine out of Donbass, neutrality guaranteed, Kiev transformed. Any handshake with Zelenskyy happens only after Trump and Putin settle the terms.

Trump is trapped. He inherited Biden’s war machine. Washington drifts, too weak to pressure Putin, too cautious to pressure Europe, too tired even to walk away. America lumbers along, sending weapons without purpose. Anchorage revealed Russia pulling stronger. Sooner or later, Europe and Ukraine will have to accept losses once thought unthinkable.

And yet, Anchorage matters. No treaty, no breakthrough—but a symbol. That photo of Trump and Putin side by side marked the end of unipolar fantasy. The West no longer writes history. It merely competes within it. Anchorage will be remembered as the day the mask fell.

Does Trump Know What He’s Doing?

The recent summit between President Trump and President Putin has been painted by the media as everything from a disaster to a betrayal, yet the reality is far simpler and far more important. The summit was a success because it proved two men at the center of global power can meet face-to-face, calmly, and without the hysteria that dominates cable news or the war machine in Washington. It was not about instant treaties or dramatic breakthroughs; it was about signaling that dialogue itself is possible in a world being pushed relentlessly toward escalation.

The media will never admit it, but Trump and Putin both understand the dangers of a frozen, endless conflict in Ukraine. Trump, with his instinctive suspicion of NATO’s blank-check adventurism, is realizing that America cannot afford to police the world forever. Putin, with his insistence on defending Russia’s red lines, has already forced the West to recognize that NATO expansion has real limits.
