The Trump administration has moved to terminate the 2009 “Endangerment Finding,” a key regulatory determination that allowed the federal government to limit greenhouse-gas emissions under the Clean Air Act, calling it “one of the greatest scams this country has ever seen.” Officials say the change could save Americans more than $1 trillion by rolling back climate-related regulations. The action also ends federal greenhouse-gas emission standards for vehicles and engines covering model years 2012 through 2027 and beyond. In addition, the Environmental Protection Agency recently issued guidance affirming farmers’ right to repair their own equipment, a policy supporters say reduces costs and restores control to agricultural producers. Trump-appointed EPA Region 6 Administrator Scott Mason joins Alicia Summers to discuss the order, its economic impact, and what it could mean for motorists and farmers.
